RMRR Conception:
Mustang Jo realized the sensitivity of cattle one day while moving a thousand
pair of cows and calves. She watched a very tired cow give up and just stand
at the bottom of a very steep hill and let the cowboy beat her with a rubber
hose, while yelling at her to move. Finally, the cowboy gave up and went to
another cow. That is when she saw it. Someone with understanding of what that
cow had been through that day, stepped up, rubbed the cows back and asked, very
quietly, for the cow to move. The cow not only moved, but went clear to the
top of the hill. The cow wanted to be asked NOT told.
Mustang Jo's Father said that in the old days, his grandfather
always set up the situation for the cattle so that they wanted to do what he
would ask them. Jo feels that there is a need for Range Riders that were trained
to treat livestock the way our great grandfathers treated them.
RMRR President: Mustang Jo
I grew up in the West and I have ridden horses since I was three years old.
I have worked with ranchers and associations for the past twenty years, and
have tried many different ways of handling cattle. I have attended a Bud Williams
clinic and I have studied under Steve Cote for years and have helped him put
on several clinics. I have had great success on the open range utilizing these
methods. I will make Low Stress Cattle Handling a part of your every day life
which will improve your cattle and your land.

RMRR Vice President: Colby Fife
Colby has learned from experience, the forgotten ways of his ancestors. He helps
riders keep focused on the most important thing, ATTITUDE. His favorite saying
is "If you back off and let them, the cows will do what you want".
Because of Colby's calming mannerisms he is a valuable asset to RMRR.
RMRR Advisor Committee:
Steve Cote Soil Conservation, with the NRCS has helped advise
our company. He has taken clinics from Bud and Eunice Williams. He has put on
clinics all over the West. Has given numerous lectures on low stress livestock
handling and has published a book, "Stockmanship".
Travis Fife, Wesley Fife, and Jason Fife
All have worked with Mustang Jo for years; herding, sorting, and branding cattle.
They have all contributed to the forming this company. Without their support
and help this company would not have been formed.
